Blood Transfusion

The Transfusion Laboratory is responsible for ensuring that the best and safest blood products are given to patients, who have lost blood due to an injury, during surgery or have certain medical conditions that affect blood or its components.

I2000SR from Abbott Laboratories and the Panther system guarantee that the donors’ blood is safe from infectious diseases and our fully automated blood grouping machine, IH 500 makes sure the correct blood type is transfused.

These in turn improves the survival of patients with critical impairment.

Donor Testing

Safe blood is critical for patients requiring transfusion daily. With our TTI’s analysers, Abbott I 2000, we ensure that screening of HIV, HCV, Hep B and Syphillis are performed with highest sensitivity and precision. With the Panther system from Grifols, we additionally reduce the window period for detection. Our Technotwin and IH 500 Blood grouping analysers from Biorad in combination with above analysers, help in guaranteeing safe blood to patients.
